Why colostrum?
Nature has created a special mixture of ingredients for optimal the start into life: colostral milk. A unique combination of bioactive substances in the colostral milk protects the young organism from pathogens and supports  its healthy development.
Not only protection of newborn mammals is ensured by colostrum. The growth and maturation are supported by colostrum as well.
It contains numerous immunoglobulins, growth factors (IGF1, EGF etc.), hormones (insulin etc.), enzymes, cytokines and immune cell. It offers young animals far more than just highly digestible nutrients.

What is Immune Milk?
Immune Milk is Phytobiotics colostrum powder, contains 100% pure bovine colostrum from German dairy farms. With a state-of-the-art vacuum dryer, our product is dried at temperatures as low as 7°C, avoiding any quality loss.

What is insulin?
Insulin is a peptide hormone produced by beta cells of the pancreatic islets. It regulates the absorption of glucose in body cells and is considered to be the main anabolic hormone of the body.

Insulin in colostrum
The growth and maturation of newborn mammals are supported by colostrum bioactive molecules. Bioactive substances elicit their biological effects either directly on the wall of the animals gastrointestinal (GI) tract or are first transported across intestine into the systemic circulation, or both. Serum insulin profiles of neonatal calves are different after feeding high or low amounts of colostrum. Studies show, that on d 7 of life serum insulin is markedly higher in a high-intensity colostrum diet group than low-intensiy colostrum diet.

Why insulin?
Insulin is important for glucose utilization and intestinal cell proliferation.
The colostral insulin triggers insulin receptor (InsR) and IGF-I receptor (IGF-1R), which are expressed  on the wall of the calf`s GI tract. The interaction of colostral insulin with the InsR present on the GI tract wall induces intracellular cascade events that lead to biological responses beneficial for intestinal growth.
